WHY HE BETRAYED JESUS
Judas Iscariot. It seems inconceivable that Judas acted out of mercenary considerations, and thus he saw the Son of the God in suffering and in death. It is impossible that when Jesus appointed Judas as the apostle, Jesus would not recognize his essence. Historical works occupy a special position in my work. It all started with my desire to describe the history of my grandfather’s adventures in his childhood. Events take place in the eighties of the nineteenth century (1880s). Young Leo was just ten years old when he set off across The Crimea in search of his mother. On his way, he encounters all sorts of people of across every strata of social status and national origin in the heyday of the Russian Empire.

One story is particularly close to heart, a story called Purim about the events of ’53 when Stalin plotted massacres against the Jewish population of the country. Stories Nothing to worry about, Liza’s Worry, You Decide and others describe the life of immigrants; and the story The True Jewess is dedicated to the tragedy of separation of young lovers caused by immigration.
